As we are a ultra social species, Disgust evolved also into a kind of aversion from what is different from the major group and normal social rules, providing a fast way to acknowledge that something is not right. That´s why we have a body aversion to things that are against our moral values . Disgust is closely related to traumas and can also be maladaptive in our daily lives.
